We wish to remind you that there are many other good reasons to come to Vodice, apart from the current conference topic!
One of them is certainly the tourist attractiveness of this part of the Adriatic, the proximity of Sibenik (13 km) and Zadar (62 km), two particularly tourist cities with rich history and attractions.
Its unique position in a picturesque and indented bay at the mouth of the river Krka, the charm of the old town and its fortresses, the richness of cultural heritage and an unforgettable gastronomic experience makes Vodice a very attractive destination.

One of them is certainly the tourist attractiveness of this part of the Adriatic, the proximity of Sibenik (13 km) and Zadar (62 km), two particularly tourist cities with rich history and attractions.
Its unique position in a picturesque and indented bay at the mouth of the river Krka, the charm of the old town and its fortresses, the richness of cultural heritage and an unforgettable gastronomic experience makes Vodice a very attractive destination.
Church of St.Cross , built in 1402, in the Gothic style, is a typical example of rural sacral architecture. A valuable detail is the old Romanesque-Gothic font on the pillar, a unique example in this part of Dalmatia.
Ćorić Tower, probably the most interesting historical attraction in Vodice, was built of Brač stone between the 15th and 17th century - located in the city centre. It is the only preserved fortress that served to defend Vodice from the Ottomans.
The island of Prvić with its two settlements, Šepurine and Prvić Luka, is mentioned in the 11th century. Significant settlement began with the flight of inhabitants from Srima and Vodice in fear of the Turks, and in the 16th century, they became a fashionable destination for Šibenik's aristocrats and nobles. Here the wealthy have built their villas and summer houses. In the picturesque Šepurina, there are two sacral buildings. The parish church of the Assumption was built in 1878 and the church of St. Roko was built in 1620 and is known for its unique baroque altar. According to its ornateness and monumentality, this altar belongs to the time of Venetian workshops.

Šibenik (only 15 kilometers away from Vodice)
The cathedral in Šibenik is certainly the most significant architectural achievement from the period between the 15th and 16th centuries on Croatian soil. The cathedral was built on the south side of the central old town square. Construction lasted just over 100 years. Due to its exceptional values, the Šibenik Cathedral was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. Today it is a symbol of this city.

Fortress of St. Nikola is also located a 20-minute drive from Vodice and symbolizes the impressive maritime fortress located in the Šibenik channel Sv. Ante. In the past, it served to defend Šibenik from the Turks from the sea. In 2017, UNESCO also included it on the World Heritage List.
Krka National Park
Known for its magnificent waterfalls, it is located near Skradin in the Šibenik-Knin County, about 25 kilometers from Vodice. The second most visited national park in Croatia, which offers numerous values, from exceptionally preserved nature and beautiful landscape to cultural sights. The longest waterfalls of the river Krka called Skradinski buk with over 17 steps and a total height difference of 45 m attract with their beauty.
